Why sugar is harmful ............?

Have you ever wondered, why your Doctor told you to quit sugar............?

Why is the sugar bad.......?

Let’s understand it scientifically.......

There are four types of sugars mainly: --- Sucrose- Table sugar, Fructose- Sugar in Fruits, Dextrose – Chemically identical sugar to Glucose but made from Corn and HFCS (High Fructose Corn Syrup). The sugar in the blood is Glucose.

Now, understand the difference between Natural Sugar and Added Sugar.....

Fruits, Vegetables and Dairy products are sweet, but there are no sugars added in it from outside, these are Natural. While, in Tea or Coffee, we add sugar from outside.

In terms of benefits, Natural Sugar is good as it not only contains sugar, but also minerals and vitamins; but the added sugar is empty calories—Just gives energy , with 0 nutritional value.
On the top of it, it will not have any stomach fullness effect because of no fibres; so, individuals will consume it in excess, which will make them gain Fat. Also, these refined sugars can get digested at a faster pace and will give higher insulin spike. Insulin spikes like that on a regular basis can significantly increase the risk of Diabetes Mellitus.

So, if a person consumes sugar once in a while, no problem; but, making it a lifestyle is a big NO NO.

Now-a- days, these sugary drinks are part of people’s daily routine. So, they will get energy from it but not nutrition. Doing this for extended period of time will make them nutritionally deficient.

Generally speaking, natural things are always beneficial ; but , when human make any changes in it, I doubt its merits.......! It’s as simple as that....

Likewise ,small amount of fructose as in case of Fruits is fine , but consuming it without any restriction –as in case of sugar  added beverages—will cause inflammation of Endothelial cells of the lining of the blood vessels. This will cause heart disease. Yes, Table sugar contains Glucose and Fructose both.

What’s more, level of C- reactive protein in the blood increases upon consumption of sugary drinks regularly, which is indicative of inflammation. Inflammation, if remains in the body for longer period, can cause chronic lifestyle diseases- Diabetes, Obesity.

Recommendation: -- American Heart Association (AHA) recommended 100 calories from added sugars for females and 150 calories for males, per day.

Most importantly, Sugar, when consumed regularly for extended period of time, will cause Leptin resistance.  Leptin is a crucial hormone that decreases hunger and increase the fat utilization in the body.........in other words, helps in Fat Loss. Resistance of this hormone will make the person eat more and gain Fat.

Last but not least, tooth cavities are caused by excess sugar uptake. When a person consumes sugars in excess, bacteria in his oral cavity will get nutrition and produce acid. This will cause the tooth to decay that is irreversible.

Whatever you were doing up until now, forget that. Your time starts from today, limit sugar containing food and at least fast for 12-15 hours a day to burn the fat you accumulated over the years....adapt to my favourite lifestyle. ....you guessed it..........INTERMITTENT FASTING.......!

Do not forget to exercise along with it to burn more calories and remain in Caloric deficit state.

Due to these issues of sugar consumption, more people are turning towards artificial sweeteners – sweet substance having 0 calories.... but there are issues too. It will decrease the sensitivity for naturally sweet substances like Fruits and Vegetables. Apart from it, it will increase the cravings for sugars making them more attracted towards sweet dishes.

Bottom line......

Sugar in moderation is OKAY, but Excess of it is dangerous.........!

Be honest, do you consider yourself heavy sugar consumers?????
